You are right on the GR34 coastal path, so you can enjoy wonderful walks from the house, whether you head towards the ocean or the river.

For example, it takes about 1 hour 20 minutes to walk to Doëlan along the coastal path, and about 40 minutes to reach the customs officers' house.

    Corps de garde de Merrien

The customs house at the mouth of the estuary, right bank: 40 min walk

    Port doelan

The port of Doëlan: 1 hour 20 minutes' walk along the coastal path

The Quimperlé community of municipalities has created numerous trails, which you can find on the maps available at the bar at the entrance.

We recommend the Land - Sea - River walk, which starts at Merrien harbour. This is a circular walk of around two hours, taking you through three very contrasting landscapes: the river with trees bending over the calm water, woods with sunken paths, and finally the coastal path with its landscapes battered by winter storms.

For this walk, start from the port and take the GR34 to follow the river, heading to the right and going to the end of the river, then turn right. Follow the path to the Moëlan road in Merrien and turn right onto this road for 300 metres until you reach Rue de Chef du Bois on the left. At the fork, turn left and follow the path to the road from Moëlan to Saint Thamec after crossing a small hamlet. Then turn right for 60 metres and keep to the right in the large bend towards Saint Thamec. Turn right at the fork and then left onto Rue Feunteun Vad. At the end of this small street, take the path to the right. After 100 m, you will come to a T-junction: turn left. You will arrive at the end of the Portec ria and rejoin the GR34 coastal path, which you should take on the right to return to the port of Merrien.

For a moment of relaxation and calm, you can paddle to the end of the ria or out to sea if the water is calm.
